We will discuss different separation techniques, such as filtration, decanting, distillation, etc., to isolate individual substances out of a mixture depending on their chemical and physical properties. This lesson further correlates to the separation techniques involved in a research lab, the actual difficulties a researcher may face, and ways they overcome those difficulties. ==== Keywords ==== * chemistry * separation techniques * mixture * physical properties * chemical properties ==== Files ==== * {{separation_and_analysis_of_components_of_a_mixture_chemistry_sciren_lesson_plan_final.docx| Lesson Plan}} * {{notes_separation_and_analysis_of_components_of_a_mixture_chemistry_sciren.pptx | PowerPoint}}
